His stunning image, The Long Shadow, was taken on a misty morning in Oxfordshire, on the first day of meteorological spring. Chris is one of only two awarded British entrants and his photograph is the only one taken in the UK.
Chris say: ‘Most other photographs, quite rightly, are from what I’d call epic locations, such as Iceland, South America and Africa. It’s always nice to be rewarded for finding something extraordinary from what might be considered ordinary in unusual conditions – especially when it’s just 15 minutes down the road from me.’
More than 1,500 entries were submitted to the competition, with Joanna Steidle from the US scooping the top prize based on her folio of four images. The top 101 images will be published in a book, available via the competition website at internationalaerialphotographer.com
