Our October issue features an interview with professional North Yorkshire photographer Lizzie Shepherd, and one of her fabulous landscapes also graces the cover.
Lizzie, whose first article for Outdoor Photography was two decades ago, has a spontaneous approach to photography and believes instinct is as important as planning. She’s also keen to retain a strong sense of reality in her work.
‘I’m here to represent the landscape,’ she says. ‘It doesn’t have to be a totally literal representation. But I want to be true to what it is because I want to reveal the beauty that’s there.’
Lizzie is currently exhibiting a selection of her landscapes at the Yorkshire Dales Landscape Photography Show in Muker. Read more about it here.
