Images by award-winning young photographer Jamie Smart (the Eagle-Eyed Girl) are currently on display at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Carmarthenshire – her first gallery exhibition.

Jamie, now 10, first picked up a camera when she was just six-and-a-half years old and has spent countless hours observing wildlife, learning to notice nature’s extraordinary details. She hopes her images will encourage others to see the beauty in nature, along with helping to promote awareness of the need to protect our planet.

Jamie, who lives in Powys, has already earned a string of awards for her work, including top place in the 2025 Wildlife Photographer of the Year 10 & Under category.
