Scientists at Columbia University in New York have invented a camera that can produce video indefinitely by harvesting energy from the light that falls on the sensor.
Currently the device can only produce grainy black and white 30×40 pixel images at a rate of one frame per second, but the team behind the project believes it could lead to a fully self-powered solid-state sensor with a much higher pixel count and frame rate.
