For the last seven years, Highlands-based Kenny Muir’s photographic focus has been on capturing unique moments in the remaining fragments of Scotland’s ancient Caledonian Forest.

‘I tend to return to the same locations,’ he says, ‘which has allowed me to become more skilled at reading the landscape and anticipating conditions. I particularly enjoy trying to reimagine the forest as it may once have looked, by seeking out atmospheric moments born from the interactions between light, water and form’.
Kenny shares a selection of his arboreal images, all taken in the autumn and winter, in our December issue – don’t miss it!
