Curated from a body of work made over the last two years, Intimate Woodland explores the surviving pockets of Scotland’s Caledonian Forest. This ancient Scots pine forest once dominated the landscape; today it is estimated that only 1% remains.

Murray says: ‘Through this exhibition, I hope to show a glimpse of what remains of Scotland’s beautiful natural state, which still exists in these fragments of forgotten woodlands.
‘Some unrecorded sites are still being discovered, by eNGOs such as Trees for Life through their Wild Pines project and other adventurous souls, in an effort to document the woodlands that were missed by the original inventory. The few trees that remain are often isolated, remote, and facing increasing threat.’

Intimate Woodland runs until 9 May and the gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm. A ‘Meet the Artist’ event will take place on Saturday 2 May.
The exhibition is supported by Fotospeed and all work is available to purchase.
